Day 1 USAHong Kong

Day 2 Hong KongKunming (D)
Upon arrival, you will be met by our local tour guide. You will start your tour to visit the Dragon Gate on West Hill. This spectacular complex of grottoes, pavilions, stone ladders, steps, and twisting tunnels was hollowed out of the rock, beginning in 1781, by a Daoist monk named Wu Laiqing. The work was continued after his death by local villagers and pious gentlemen, and completed in 1853. The cliff-hugging pavilion seen here is classic, resembling those from paintings of a thousand years earlier.

Day 3 Kunming - Stone Forest - Kunming (AB, L, D)
Today we will drive 86 km to the Stone Forest. It is a massive collection of gray limestone pillars, formed over 240 million years and eroded to their present fanciful forms, the tallest standing 90 feet high. Marine fossils found in the area suggest that it was once under the sea. The strange shapes create a unique "fairyland" feel. In the afternoon, return to Kunming and visit Golden Horse Archway and Green Jade Chicken Archway. The Golden Horse Archway is located at the corner of Sanshi Road and Jinpi Road, 12 meters in height, and 18 meters in width. It is a kind of traditional Kunming style construction, carve on girder and painting on ridgepole, exquisite and splendiferous, the east archway (Golden Horse Archway) is named after Golden Horse Mountain which it is stayed by; and the west archway (Green Jade Chicken Archway) is named after Green Jade Chicken Mountain which it is stayed by.

Day 4 KunmingShangri-La (AB, L, D)
Take the morning flight to Shangri-La. Shangri-La has only been opened to tourists since 1992. You may experience authentic Tibetan culture in this mountainous region. First of all we pay a visit the Puda Cuo National Park. Then visit Ganden Songzanglin Monastery, founded in the 17th century during the reign of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama and nicknamed as Lesser Potala Palace by the locals. This is one of the thirteen Tibetan monasteries in the Kangba Region, where Tibet, Yunnan and Sichuan join.

Day 5 Shangri-La - Tiger Leaping Gorge - Lijiang (AB, L, D)
Drive from Zhongdian to Lijiang. On the way, we will visit the sweeping First Bend of the Yangtze River; then visit the tremendous Tiger Leaping Gorge, where the river forces its way between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain. Arrive Lijiang, visit the ancient Town of Dayan. Dayan town was originally built in the 12th century. It is a maze of waterways and alleys of very old wooden houses lived in by the Naxi Minority people. Enjoy yourself in this place sitting by a waterway, sipping tea and watching the world go by.

Day 6 Lijiang (AB, L, D)
Today you will take the cable car ride to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It is famous for its high hills and meadows, snowy mountains and water and primitive forests. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the highest peak in ranges of Yunlong Mountains. The glaciers originating from these mountains have the lowest latitude in the Northern Hemisphere. In the afternoon, visit the Jade Water Village. Its water source originated from the snow mountain. This Pure and fresh snow melted water, has to flow through a distance of about 2400 meters before it reaches the Jade Water Village. According to some legend, the mouth of the spring was where the Jade Dragon came out to inspect the plain of Lijiang. So this spring was named as "Sacred Spring".

Day 7 Lijiang - Dali (AB, L, D)

After breakfast we drive to Dali. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, it was the capital of Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms, the political, economic and cultural center of Yunnan, and an important pass for the ancient ‘Southern Silk Road’. Visit the Dali Old Town. Then, enjoy the Folk Songs and Dances of the Bai ethnic minority while you are served the famous Three Course Tea. Then we will visit the Three Pagodas. Three pagodas have a history of over 1,800 years. It is a symbol of the history of Dali City, and a record of the development of Buddhism in the area. As its name implies, Three Pagodas are made of three ancient independent pagodas forming a symmetrical triangle. This is unique in China. A visit to The Three Pagodas should not be missed by any visitor to Dali City.

Day 8 DaliGuangzhou / Hong KongUSA (AB)
After breakfast, visit the Cangshan Mountain by cable car and view the Erhai Lake from the mountain. Then, board your flight to Guangzhou. Please select your return date from Hong Kong to USA.
